Sony Reader PRS-300 in late February is coming to Germany A
The 5-inch device with e-ink display in this country costs 199 euros. It supports the formats PDF, BBeB, ePub, TXT, RTF and DOC. Its memory can store up to 330 books, but is not expandable. The battery is enough for 6800 page envelopes.
Sony will bring its e-Reader PRS-300 (Pocket Edition) in late February and in Germany on the market. In this country, should the reader with a 5-inch display, the Sony had introduced in August 2009 for the first time, costs 199 euros. In the U.S. it is available for months.
The little brother of the PRS-600 weighs about 220 grams and fits according to the manufacturer in every pocket. His e-ink display triggers 800 times on 600 in eight shades of gray.
The 512 GB of internal memory holds up to 330 books. In contrast to the Sony models PRS-600 and PRS-505 it can not be expanded using memory card. An MP3 player and WLAN are also missing.

The Pocket Reader Edition supports BBeB and ePub formats (DRM-free, and copy) and PDF, TXT, RTF and DOC. In the ePub format, the script in three levels are increased, with the text flow adjusts through a dynamic new line of display size. Thus, the user must scroll less. The display direction can change from vertical to horizontal.
Sony’s battery life with up to 6800 specified page covers the ePub format. Via USB, the reader can download complete in about four hours. With an optional AC adapter is half the charging time. The supplied transfer software Library Reader 3.1 on Windows XP and Vista as well as Mac OS X 10.4.11 or later.
The PRS-300 is in the colors silver, black and pink in bookstores and in electronic markets to be available.
