Lenovo will soon introduce the first ThinkPad notebooks with AMD CPU, as reported by ZDNet Asia. So far, come under the 2004 IBM acquired product line only Intel processors.
The Chinese PC maker is planning an ultra portable 11.6-inch notebook called Thinkpad X100e, which will be available in different versions with Athlon Neo, Turion and Turion X2 Neo. It is positioned between netbook and notebook and will bring the typical Thinkpad trackpoint. Details of the configurations are not yet known. Prices start at $ 500 (about € 350).
On the larger 14 – and 15-inch models, Lenovo is apparently still exclusively on Intel CPUs.
